Propranolol, a beta adrenergic blocking agent in addition to its adrenergic blocking activity possesses anticonvulsant properties in mice. The effects of diazepam 0,2 mg,kg, during 21 days, ip on behavior, pituitary-adrenocortical and sympatho-adrenomedullary system of socially isolated and group-housed adult male rats additionally exposed to immobilization, were studied. Holding cheapest diazepam time in triplicate for each rat on the rotating rotarod was measured. Patients who had received other anticonvulsants for treatment of acute seizure were excluded cheapest diazepam from the study. Its hypnotic, anxiolytic and amnesic properties make it widely used as a premedicant in Ophthalmic practice, especially in the case cheapest diazepam planned for surgery under local anaesthesia. Out of the 5 grade IV cases, one case had a pulse rate of 116 per minute; this patient expired due to cardiorespiratory failure within 24 hours. The highest mortality was observed in the grade IV cases in all the three groups. Similarly mortality rates were similar even in the milder cases belonging to three different groups. Although addition of propranolol did control the pulse rate, no significant difference in mortality was observed between the 3 groups when analysed according to severity of grade. It appears that addition of chlorpromazine or propranolol to diazepam is not likely to produce any additional benefit in the treatment of cheapest diazepam convulsions in tetanus. Patients with evidence of cheapest diazepam respiratory distress and cyanosis were given oxygen and tracheostomy was performed only in a few cases as an emergency. He was aghast that the woman was addicted to diazepam and scheduled a withdrawal regimen. In patients who received the diazepam chlorpromazine combination, 8 subjects had evidence of sympathetic overactivity. The spasms were recorded as mild, moderate and severe according to preset criteria. For a seriously disturbed patient, haloperidol is a useful drug 0,5 tp 5,0 mg BD. Out of these 8 cases 3 died, the overall mortality being 37 percent. In some patients little more than this will be required except for reassurance of patients and relatives.
